Throughout your progress, we will collaboratively decide on and walk toward your goals.  Instead of simply working to relieve your symptoms, you can expect to:

  • Understand and start to identify the often unconscious deeper patterns, cultural/systemic influences and relational attachment styles;
  • Recognize and shift how you may be responding to triggers;
  • Learn to shift cognitively, and practice mindful, somatic, emotional techniques to heal deep hurts, as well as releasing barriers that impede your progress;
  • Communicate your inner truth for meaningful connections;
  • Improve relationship with self and others;
  • To feel more inner alignment, to start to smile more.

Approaches

As humans, it could feel so difficult yet vitally important to attend to the health of our mind, body, emotions, and soul to be connected with ourselves and others, and to be in the centered, grounded state. As a holistic psychologist and pending your particular struggles, I work relationally, using emotion-focused, cognitive, and mindfulness-based techniques. I also often integrate somatic, , imagery work, and/or body energy psychology (e.g., clinical Emotional-Freedom Techniques, which is you learning to tap on your own acupressure points).

I am active and supportively direct in our sessions, and we will collaboratively identify particularly salient area(s) for you to work on in between our sessions.

Session Modality and Frequency

I provide therapy for adults in CA during day hours via telehealth (Mondays, Tuesdays), or in-person (on Thursdays), by appointment only. I usually recommend meeting weekly. This allows you to start to gain insight and increasingly notice your patterns. Depending on the complexity of your patterns, we will collaboratively decide whether we continue this as we proceed in the therapeutic process. We may consider spacing out to every other week or decide that we want to continue the weekly work. You will often walk away with some techniques or insight within the first few sessions.

Fees

Typical fees are $240 per 50-minute session. Please contact me regarding your financial situation. The more you are able to pay, the more I am able to offer reduced fees for those with limited resources.

Because of my limited availability, I would like to talk with you for a free initial, 20-minute consultation (telephone or video) to further determine if we are a good fit for each other.

Insurance Info

I am considered an “out-of-network provider” for all mental health insurance plans. If you have a PPO insurance plan, I am happy to provide a monthly superbill/receipt for you to request reimbursement from your insurance for some session fees. Please do double-check with your own insurance for specific coverage if you are considering applying for reimbursement from your insurance for therapy. (It may be helpful to let your insurance company know that the “procedure code” for 50-minute therapy sessions is “90834”, so that they can inform you of how much they’ll reimburse you.) Also, please make sure that your insurance will reimburse you for telehealth sessions. Some insurance companies will also only reimburse you for more “severe” mental disorders.

Please also keep in mind that if you are considering submitting receipt/superbill to your insurance for reimbursement, then be prepared for us to discuss formal mental disorder diagnosis which is required by insurance companies. This/these diagnosis(es) will become part of your insurance record.
